Grand Central Terminal was born with the idea that is would serve as a palace of train travel, kind of more on the upper end. Now, Grand Central Terminal is the most popular attraction and place of travel in the world. It houses the Metro-North Railroad, a commuter line serving New York’s northern area with connections to the subway systems. But of course It’s New York, that’s not all! It’s also a shopping and dining attraction and housing dozens of restaurants and shops. But Wait! Grand Central almost didn’t make it too 100! It was in danger of being torn down in the 1970s for a new office tower, but luckily it was saved by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Couldn’t really imagine traveling without Grand Central Terminal.
