Yesterday San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick absolutely destroyed the Green Bay Packers not only getting his team to the NFC Championship game but also setting a new record. Read more after the jump.
Michael Vick held the record for most rushing yards by a quarterback in a postseason game with 119 yards, which he set during the 2004 playoffs. That was until Kaepernick took the field yesterday and not only broke it but obliterated it.
Midway through the third quarter, Kaepernick has 163 yards on 12 rushes against the Packers, including a 20-yard touchdown that gave the 49ers their first points of the game, and a 56-yard touchdown that gave the 49ers a 31-24 lead. Kaepernick has an outside shot at not only the quarterback rushing record, but also Eric Dickerson’s all-time record of 248 rushing yards in a postseason game.
Kaepernick finished the game with 263 yards including 181 rushing and 2 touchdowns. Not bad for the kid’s first playoff game. I guess all the Alex Smith supporters are quiet now.
