Things just aren’t going well for the Los Angeles Lakers this season. They currently have a 15-21 record including a loss last night to the Oklahoma City Thunder. During that game their reserve big man Jordan Hill showed up in street clothes, limping and it turns out he won’t return. Read more after the jump.
It turns out Hill will need hip surgery and is out for the rest of the season as reported by the Lakers.
After seeing the team doctor and a hip specialist it was determined he had loose fragments as well as a possible labral tear, the Lakers announced. Basically, it makes it painful to walk, let alone run and jump. The only way to fix it is surgery that will cost him the rest of the season.
Hill wasn’t an elite player but he provided size, hustle and speed to the Lakers struggling frontline. He’s also had a few breakout games that helped save the team. This is a pretty big blow to a team that’s already taken so many.
