Ever since the whole confrontation earlier this week with Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett, alot of NBA players have been asked about fighting. Surprisingly many players said fights between players happen more often than we think, there just is not always cameras around to see it. Enter Jerry Stackhouse. He did an interview with Grantland, and he tells about a time he beat up former Utah Jazz player Kirk Snyder. He said during the game Snyder hit him with a few cheap shots. Stackhouse wanted to fight him on the court but thought about the fines, so he waited patiently until the game was over. Read more after the jump.

Stackhouse told Grantland “I ain’t even shower. I put on some sweats, some sneakers, and I went and stood in the tunnel. As soon as [Snyder] came out, I fired on him. I got a couple. That was it. I don’t know where all these security people came from. It probably lasted 20 seconds. Everybody pulled me off and that was it.” It gets even better. He also says the following season they were playing each other again and before the game Snyder was walking towards Stackhouse. He was thinking he was trying to fight again but instead Snyder thanked him! “He started walking towards me,” Stackhouse said. “I closed my fists, wondering what’s this fool up to, thinking we’re about to go in. He just came in and opened his hand out to me and said, ‘Man, I really needed that.’…It was the weirdest thing I had ever witnessed. You got into some knuckles with someone and they come back and tell you, ‘I needed that.'” Dam Jerry, I didnt think you had that beast in you, beating people so bad they thank you? lol. I definitely wish there was video of that.
