Quick recap: Dwight Howard asked to be traded from the Orlando Magic. He could have become a free agent and gotten the choice of picking his new team. Instead he changed his mind and signed a waiver on his opt-clause and remained with the Magic. He later changed his mind again and decided he indeed wanted to be traded, restarting the saga. The Magic worked out a deal sending him to the Los Angeles Lakers. Well if you’ve been paying attention you’ve noticed that hasn’t worked out as well as Howard and the Lakers have hoped. Now it appears that Dwight is missing “home”.
According to TMZ
Dwight Howard was in town to play the New York Knicks last month and hit up a hat store in Harlem and wouldn’t you know it … he picked up a hat of his former team.
According to their witness, Dwight didn’t just pick up the hat, he in fact bought it.
The Lakers chemistry amongst other things are just off. Howard becomes a free agent at the end of the season, it’ll be interesting to see what he decides to do this time. Unfortunately for him the Magic have no plans to pursue him during free agency.
