Everyone is laughing and basically in shock that the Orlando Sentinel would even take the time out to write this story. It’s well known that Dwight Howard will become a free agent after this season, it’s also well known about the “Dwightmare” and his subsequent departure from the Orlando Magic. So why would we all need to be alerted that they won’t pursue him in free agency? Read more after the jump.
Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel:
The Orlando Magic won’t attempt to convince Dwight Howard to rejoin their team when Howard becomes a free agent in July, an NBA source with knowledge of the Magic’s thinking told the Orlando Sentinel.
Magic officials are said to believe it’s too soon to try to bring back Howard after the acrimonious eight months between his Dec. 2011 trade request and the deal that sent him to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Well in case you weren’t 100% ready to let go Magic fans, this just about does it not that Dwight would come back if they did intend to pursue him. If I had to take a guess, I’d say he either re-signs with the Lakers or goes to the Dallas Mavericks.
