Merry Christmas Knicks fans. Marcus Camby has missed the last 12 games due to plantar fascia in his left foot, but said he will be active tomorrow against the Lakers.
According to Ian Begley at ESPNNewYork.com:
Following a workout on Sunday afternoon prior to tipoff against Minnesota, Camby pronounced himself healthy enough to play.
“I just have to get my number called,” he said. “I’ll be available Tuesday.”
The Knicks will not have Amar’e Stoudemire back for Tuesday’s game, coach Mike Woodson said Sunday.
Woodson and Stoudemire talked after Saturday’s practice to map out a plan for his return. The forward, who hasn’t played in the regular season following left knee surgery, will travel with the team during its three-game road trip from Dec. 25-28. But he is unlikely to play.
The team hopes that Camby’s presence can give Tyson Chandler, who’s played 35 minutes per game in the Knicks’ last five games, a chance to rest.
