It felt like I was back in 96′ for a second as the Chicago Bulls beat down on the NY Knicks in an ugly, wild game that included 50 personal fouls, 9 technicals and 4 ejections. Read more after the jump.
Carmelo Anthony picked up his second technical in the fourth quarter that sent him to the locker room early. When one of the louder roars went up from inside Madison Square Garden, Anthony went into the hallway to get an explanation for the commotion. What he got instead was some company, as Coach Mike Woodson received a technical with 5 minutes 22 seconds left. The frustration grew from there, when Tyson Chandler and Joakim Noah got tangled up in the final minutes of the game, resulting in a double technical for each player, and making it three Knicks banished to the locker room early.
The game was one of the worst officiated games of the season and even warranted this death stare from Spike Lee.
Still it was gritty and competitive and the Bulls with one of the leagues best defenses held the high volume shooting Knicks off. The 110-106 loss dropped the Knicks to 19-7 and just their second home loss of the season.
