The NFL playoff run is heating up but today two more teams secured their spot. Read more after the jump.
The Green Bay Packers went to Soldier Field today and took care of business as Aaron Rodgers hooked up with James Jones for three touchdowns in the 21-13 win. They not only moved up to 10-4, they also won the NFC North and a playoff position. The Bears on the other hand fell to 8-6 and have lost six of their last seven games.
Meanwhile over in Houston, the Texans got a 29-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts as JJ Watt racked up a game-high 10 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble, further pushing his name for MVP consideration. The Texans move to 12-2 clenching the AFC South and a playoff berth. The Colts fall to 9-5 but can still capture a Wild Card spot with a win over the Kansas City Chiefs next week, which shouldn’t be difficult to do. If not they will need a week 17 win over the Texans which I’m sure they don’t want to have to rely on.
The Texans join the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos who have won their divisions in the AFC while the Packers join the Atlanta Falcon’s who have won their divisions in the NFC.
