It wasn’t even that long ago that Freddie Gibbs announced his signing to Young Jeezy’s CTE imprint, but it looks like that situation has already folded. We’ve only gotten some collaborative songs from Jizzle and Freddie since the signing, so perhaps it was a matter of frustration? Details below.
First, Freddie tweeted this over the weekend:
Quite an interesting tweet to send, considering he’s supposed to be signed to Jeezy’s label. Hip-Hop DX makes note that during a recent interview, Gibbs attributed his debut album’s delay to lack of linking with Jeezy because of “scheduling conflicts.” He made sure to add, though, that they are “cliqued up” and still tight. Upon reading the cryptic tweet, Hip-Hop Wired reached out to his camp, who replied that “there is no official statement to be made” about the split. Hmm! We’ll just have to wait and see, but it seems likes all signs are pointing toward him no longer being down with the CTE crew! Wonder what Tone Trump’s status is?
