China’s Yao Defen was the tallest woman in the world, 7 feet 8 inches. She died at the age of 40 in a house she shared with her mom in China’s central Anhui Provinvce. Yao had developed gigantism because of a tumor on her pituitary gland and by the time she was 15 she was more than 6 feet 6. In 2006, the tumor was removed but she had developed a series of different health issues including a blood clot on her brain. But they are saying the cause of her death is unknown yet.
