CBSSports.com’s Jason La Canfora reported Sunday that Roethlisberger frustrated some inside the organization by doing little more than toss the ball on the sideline after he was medically cleared to practice this week, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.
Coach Mike Tomlin sat down with Big Ben and told the quarterback he would have to practice fully Friday or be ruled out in that day’s injury report, according to La Canfora, who reported that many inside team walls expected Roethlisberger to play.
Ben had suffered a serious and rare injury when he rib threatened to puncture his heart. Since then he’s been cleared out of the woods and expected to return to the field. The Steelers have been in a slump without their quarterback and it’s quite odd that we would hear this about the QB made of steel.
