The player has been identified as Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher who was just 25 years old. His girlfriend has allegedly been identified as Kasandra Perkins and the two have a daughter named Zoey Michelle born in September.
According to Laura McCallister of kctv5.com, these are the latest updates on the shooting, exactly who was involved and when and where it happened:
The first shooting was reported about 8 a.m. at a home near 54th Street and Chrysler Avenue. The second shooting was reported a short time later at a Chiefs practice facility located on the Arrowhead facility.
Officials said the Chiefs player shot and killed his girlfriend and then drove to the practice facility where he shot and killed himself.
