OK a few months back TMO’s CEO said he didn’t care if they got the iPhone or not , but it there seems to be a change of heart as Analysts are saying that TMO could get the iPhone sooner than later. And not an unlocked iPhone which was released today. TMO must be feeling the burn as smaller companies like Cricket even sell the iPhone.
According to a report from Fortune, Merrill Lynch analyst Scott Craig said in a note to investors this morning that “speculation is heightening” that T-Mobile’s parent company Deutsche Telecom will announce a deal to bring the uber-popular smartphone to its U.S. subsidiary as early as next week. T-Mobile is the nation’s fourth largest wireless carrier with 33 million customers, about four million of which would likely buy the device, Craig estimated.
In a statement to PCMag, a T-Mobile spokeswoman declined to comment on the report, noting “T-Mobile does not comment on rumor or speculation.”
