Tonight is the official start of the Christmas season. Starting at 7pm, NBC has been airing the Rockefeller Christmas Tree lighting tradition live from Rockefeller Center, with performances by various artists such as Cee Lo, Mariah Carey, and more. Mariah Carey, Billy Crystal, Cee Lo Green and the Radio City Rockettes are among the stars set to perform alongside an even bigger star — the 80-foot-tall Rockefeller Christmas tree, which will usher in the holiday season when its 45,000 lights switch on tonight.
“Christmas in Rockefeller Center,” a two-hour celebration dating back to 1933, will precede the tree lighting and is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of spectators.
American Idol Winner and country singer, Scotty McCreery, started off the show.
Legendary musician Tony Bennet performed right after, singing “Favorite Things”.
Nickelodeon actress and singer Victoria Justice was the third performance, singing “Last Christmas”.
Then, Cee Lo Green performed “This Christmas” from his Christmas Album “Ceelo’s Magic Moment”.
Italian trio Il Volo followed up Cee Lo with “Silent Night”.
Rod Stewart then gave a solid performance of “Have Yourself A Merry Christmas.”
After Rod, Brooke White performed “Wonderful Christmas Time.”
The Voice’s Chris Mann then sang a flawless rendition of “O Holy Night”.
And then The infamaous Rockettes danced on stage.
Country star Trace Adkins took the stage after the Rockettes.
Il Volo took the stage to sing a medley of “Jingle Bell Rock”, “Let It Snow”, and “Most Wonderful Time Of The Year.”
Mariah Carey then sang her classic Christmas song “All I Want For Christmas Is You”.
After Mariah’s performance, Cee Lo hit the stage with the Muppets to sing an original song “All I Need Is Love”.
Victoria Justice hit the again to perform “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” and “Jingle Bell Rock”.
Rod Stewart then sang “Let It Snow”.
American Idol winner Scotty McCreery took the stage again to perform “Holly, Jolly Christmas.”
The Voice former contestant Chris Mann then performed a beautiful version of “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.”
86-year-old Tony Bennett then sang “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”.
Trace Adkins then hit the stage to sing “These 3 Kings”.
The Rockettes took the stage to dance to “Let Christmas Shine”.
Mariah Carey finished off the night with “Christmas Time Is In The Air”.
Finally, the tree was lit at 9pm.
