An 82-foot-tall Norway Spruce picked to grace Rockefeller Center this holiday season survived the deadly winds of Hurricane Sandy that felled trees all around it.
The owner of the piney perennial from Flanders, N.J., predicted it will serve more than just a Christmas tradition — Joe Balku said it will be “a powerful symbol of the region’s strength in this time of crisis.”
