Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer thinks the company has a strong chance of being the number 3 company in the mobile market. At this point i think they have a chance since company’s like HTC and LG are slipping in the market. And when it comes to actucal OS iOS and Android are on top of the food chain while RIM’s Blackberry OS has faded to black. So Steve Ballmer is right since there is no real competition and they will more than likely not catch the leaders .
Shooting for the number three slot
Ballmer has no illusions in trying to capture Apple or Android as far as market share, but has a more realistic approach to his company’s place in the smartphone arena—he wants to be solidly in the number three position.
In a Microsoft launch event in Tel Aviv, Israel yesterday, Ballmer said:
“With the work we have done with Nokia, HTC, Samsung and others … there is now an opportunity to create really a strong third participant in the smartphone market.
