With 2 New York NBA teams, there’s going to be a lot of trash talking! We’ve seen it already and now it continues…
The postponed Knicks-Nets game at the Barclays Center was supposed to be an unveiling for the Nets’ new $1 billion arena. But not to Marcus Camby.
To Camby, it would have been a home game for the Knicks.
The veteran center took a subtle shot at Nets fans on Thursday when he cracked that there would have been more Knicks fans than Nets fans on hand at the Barclays Center.
“Well, it was going to be a home game for us tonight too,” Camby said of Thursday’s opener, which was postponed due to Hurricane Sandy and rescheduled for Nov. 26.
Since the NBA released its schedule over the summer, many have wondered how many Knicks fans would show up to the Barclays Center for Knicks-Nets.
When the Nets were in New Jersey, their arena would be flooded by Knicks fans.
Camby was a part of some of those Knicks teams, playing a stint in New York from 1998-99 to 2001-02.
