Since he entered the draft, so many have compared Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III to Cam Newton, who was the NFL’s offensive rookie of the year last season. Griffin has taken the league by storm just like Newton did, with his amazing array of skills. Barring something unexpected, Griffin should win the same award this year as well.
But Griffin isn’t interested in being compared to Newton.
“I’d rather be compared to an Aaron Rodgers or a guy like that,” Griffin said Wednesday, according to Rich Campbell of the Washington Times, “someone who has won Super Bowls.”
It wasn’t a knock on Newton as much as it was a statement about Griffin’s priority at the midpoint of his rookie season.
-Does he have a point? What do you think?!
