Mayor Mike Bloomberg has announced a mandatory evacuation of Zone A in NYC. He also announced that all public parks will be closed today after 5pm following Governor Cuomo’s announcement that MTA rail service will be suspended at 7 p.m. and bus services at 9 p.m. tonight. Zone A includes Brooklyn’s Coney Island and Manhattan Beach, Far Rockaway and Broad Channel in Queens, South Beach, Midland Beach, and other low-lying areas on Staten Island, and Manhattan’s Battery Park City.
