Governor Chris Christie just addressed the State of New Jersey to talk about the steps he has taken in preparation for Hurricane Sandy. Christie said that he has spoken to President Obama personally in-regards to FEMA and other emergency relief services. Hurricane Sandy is expected to touch down on land somewhere between Atlantic City and Toms River causing NJ to probably face the most damage on the East Coast. He urges ALL schools to close tomorrow.
NJ Transit will fully shut down at 4 p.m. today.
All government offices are closed, including the DMV, for at least tomorrow.
A mandatory evacuation has been issued for all Atlantic City casinos/hotels and the Barrier Islands from Sandy Hook down.
Tolls on the Garden State Parkway North of Atlantic City have been suspended.
Bridges and tunnels will be closed by the Port Authority on a basis-to-basis situation.
