A 61 year old Brazilian woman by the name of Asti decided that she was ready to have children. She initially approached her husband in 92′ expressing her interest in having children. Asti had several unsuccessful trials at having children and soon after looked to adopt. However, she was declined the application because of her age.

“The age didn’t matter at all,” her Dr. Orlando de Castro Neto said. “The only condition is that a woman has a uterus.”
Asti’s 10-year-old frozen embryos — left over from a failed in-vitro fertilization attempt in 2002 — were fertilized with her husband’s sperm.
