38-year-old Vindalee Smith was found stabbed to death just one day before she was supposed to get married. Smith, who was pregnant, was found dead due to a stab wound to the neck in her East Flatbush, Brooklyn apartment. There was no sign of forced entry or weapon found in Smith’s apartment so her fiance, friends and family were questioned by police but have seemed to be cleared as the suspect. According to reports, a former neighbor of Smith’s threatened to kill her so police have begun investigating into that despite the fact that she moved out of her former apartment and the issue stopped. Vindalee had four, older children that did not live with her and sadly, her unborn child did not survive the brutal attack. Rev. Ferron Francis of the New Dimension Church, who tipped police off about her dispute with her former neighbor, spoke to the Daily News saying:
“Her death is tragic, it has broken our hearts. She was dedicated to her family,” he said. “She was beautiful and this is very surreal.”
