With the approaching date for the surface Tablet, other Windows 8 suppliers may feel that Windows may not push their Tablet because Microsoft has their own device to push. The question is what will make Microsoft’s tablet different from their competitors.
Microsoft recently opened online pre-orders for its Surface RT tablets. A 32GB model without touch cover is priced at US$499, and US$599 for one with a black touch cover, while a 64GB model is priced at US$699 with a black touch cover. The company also sells keyboard covers separately at US$129.99 and touch covers in different colors at US$119.99.
Although pre-orders sold out in less than two days, since Microsoft only released a limited number for pre-order, it is still difficult to judge the market’s response to the device. However, based on market watchers’ feedback about the devices, Windows RT and Windows 8 will have a chance to become the third force in the tablet battlefield, the sources noted.
