Developers say 2,000 bars and restaurants “from Shoreditch to Shanghai” are already on board, and those playlists can include hundreds of songs.
A jukebox called “Skinny Jeans,” for example, plays indie-rock for the hipster set, while “Hot Buttered” features smooth soul classics.
Created by English company c-burn, Secret DJ has caught fire in London, where over 250 pubs are participating. About 20,000 users have downloaded the app.
Although no Canadian bars have signed up for the app yet, a c-burn representative said they recently created a jukebox for Soho House Toronto.
