Nintendo announced yesterday they are dropping the price for the Wii. As Nintendo plans on going full speed with their Wii U, the idea of dropping the price is good for Nintendo since there people out there that still want a Wii. So before Nintendo completely drops the Wii to the abyss a price drop is definitely needed.
“Nearly six years after it launched, people are still attracted to the pure, inclusive fun of the Wii console,” Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of sales and marketing, said in a statement. “A new suggested retail price and the inclusion of two great games make it an easy choice for families looking for a great value this holiday season.”
Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort include a variety of sports like bowling, tennis, baseball, archery, table tennis, and basketball. This is the first time both games are included on a single disc.
Meanwhile, Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U system will also be hitting stores ahead of the holiday season. The Wii U system will ship Nov. 18, the Sunday before Thanksgiving, and be available in two versions, a Basic Set and a Deluxe Set. The Basic set, which includes 8GB of storage, will retail for $299.99 while the 32GB Deluxe Set will set you back $349.99.
