A fan suffered non-fatal injuries when he was stabbed outside Candlestick Park on Sunday, shortly after the start of Sunday’s game between the San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants
San Francisco police confirmed to NFL.com and NFL Network that a fan was stabbed after an altercation and is expected to survive. Police arrested two suspects minutes after the stabbing.
According to the Chronicle, the 27-year-old victim was with five friends — all 49ers fans — when they were approached by another group of 49ers fans near the stadium’s southwestern side. The groups then got into an argument before a suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the torso.
Two suspects were arrested two blocks from the site of the stabbing. Officers from the San Francisco police’s Gang Task Force are investigating the incident.
