After not making the playoffs last year the “Dream Team” Philadelphia Eagles fell way short of expectations. Now the pressure for them to make it to the playoffs this year is extremely high especially on quarterback Michael Vick. Read more after the jump.
According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter:
If Vick is on the Eagles roster Feb. 6, 2013, three days after this season’s Super Bowl, $3 million of his nearly $16 million salary becomes fully guaranteed. But if the Eagles opt to release Vick before Feb. 6, 2013, they will not have any financial obligation to him and his contract will come off their salary cap without any charge.
The Eagles are currently 3-2 and are 1st place in the NFC East. The wins however have seemed pretty lucky as they’ve dealt with numerous turnovers at the hand of Vick. Issues with interceptions and fumbles have plagued the QB leading him to go so far as to walk around with a football all day long. Today they face the 1-3 Detroit Lions at 1 PM, another team that has fallen way short of expectations.
