With Tablets catching up to handheld gaming and being being cheaper. It would be smart for Sony to lower the pricing on it’s PS Vita. Will we see a price cut for the PS Vita in the future? Is There still a die hard market out there for handheld gaming??
By virtually all metrics, the PlayStation Vita isn’t burning up store shelves. And though Sony told IGN that it intends on supporting the platform for a very long time, the fact is, Sony has to get more of these things into the wild for it to last one of Sony’s (in)famous 10 year cycles.
One such way to get more Vitas into players’ hands is by way of a price cut. And while Sony was widely congratulated when it revealed in 2011 that Vita would cost a mere $250, that price seems less competitive in a staunchly contested market dominated by the likes of Nintendo 3DS and smart phones and tablets running both iOS and Android.
Interestingly, a price cut for Vita might not be too far off. In a conversation withEurogamer, Sony UK’s Fergal Gara spoke directly to the possibility of the handheld getting a price cut.
