The feud between Osi Umenyiora and LeSean McCoy will be renewed on Sunday night when theNew York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles meet again.
Perhaps at some point, Umenyiora may respond to McCoy’s assertion that the Giants defensive end is “a ballerina in a Giants uniform.”
During an interview that will air Tuesday night on “E:60,” McCoy discusses the beef between himself and Umenyiora.
“Osi, to be honest, he is a good player,” McCoy said. “I think he thinks that he is better than what he really is. I think he is a ballerina in a Giants uniform. Other than that, that is all I got to say about Osi.”
Umenyiora says the two rivals have been going at it for years. But the feud has escalated in the past year. In May on Mother’s Day, Umenyiora tweeted, “Happy Mothers Day Lesean Mccoy! Enjoy your special day!!”
McCoy tweeted back, “Lol let the beef begin.”
“On the Twitter, he is going to say Happy Mother’s Day to LeSean McCoy,” the Eagles running back said on “E:60.” “Now he is lucky that I was going through a contract situation and me and Coach [Andy] Reid are tight. So [Reid] told me, ‘don’t say nothing,’ and I gave my word to him that I won’t say nothing to him … at the time.”
Last summer, Umenyiora referred to the McCoy as “Lady Gaga” and “she” after McCoy tweeted that the defensive end is “overrated” and “soft” and the third-best defensive lineman on the Giants.
On “E:60,” Umenyiora responded to McCoy’s “ballerina” comment by taking the high road, albeit with a hint of sarcasm.
“He is probably right,” Umenyiora said. “I might be a ballerina in a Giants uniform. I am lucky that I got the contract, I’m lucky to be playing 10 years in the league, won Super Bowls, all that is pure luck.
“I am happy for him,” Umenyiora added. “I’m happy that he got his contract, and I am happy that everything is working out for him in Philadelphia.”
