Former Yale student Eric Yee reportedly said he wouldn’t mind killing kids who were planning to purchase the shoes, which cost $270.

Yee also allegedly claimed in a comment that he would like to do something similar to the shooting in Aurora, Colo., where 12 people were killed and 58 were injured.

“What he was posting had nothing to do with sports,” ESPN spokesman Mike Soltys told the Ventura County Star. “We closely monitor the message boards and anytime we get a threat, we’re alerting law enforcement officials.”

Yee lives at his parents’ home in Santa Clarita. The home overlooks an elementary school and a middle school.

Several guns were found at Lee’s house Monday, according to police.

Lee is reportedly being held on $1 million bail.
