Amanda McCarthy tweeted a photo of her husband, Oakland A’s pitcher Brandon McCarthy, a week after his brain surgery. He’s walking down a street in San Francisco. It was his first day walking outside unassisted.
“Love that not one person on the street is bothered by his head,” Amanda McCarthy tweeted. “Just a normal day in SF.”
Brandon, 29, was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday.
McCarthy underwent two hours of surgery last week after a ball hit by the Los Angeles Angels’ Erick Aybar struck the right side of his head. That caused an epidural hemorrhage, brain contusion and skull fracture.
