As a first time Coachella attendee this past April, I pretty much feel like I’m an expert now. LOL. The three day music festival was crazy and humungous enough as it was, but now the powers that be are making it even more so! They’re going to make the space bigger, the crowds larger and they may add three weekends of shows to the mix! This isn’t even counting the “Coachella At Sea” cruises they will be doing! I’m not sure if I can handle this. I was barely able to hang that last time. Ha! Get the details below.

In the “Notice of Preparation,” the Desert Sun notes, the city is undertaking an environmental study to examine what kind of impact “five concerts a year through 2030” would have on the region.
Three of the concerts would be held over consecutive, three-day weekends in the spring, with another two weekend festivals mounting in the fall. Expansion plans also call for an attendance increase to 99,000 — the current maximum attendance for any single weekend is 95,000 — and an increase in site size, to 601 acres from the current 535.
