Former WWE Diva Stacy Carter (“The Kat” and “Miss Kitty”), the ex-wife of Jerry Lawler, says the King is being taken out of sedation and is now responsive after undergoing more heart procedures on Tuesday.
There is now fear that Lawler might have suffered brain damage during RAW after suffering a heart attack, when his brain was deprived of oxygen for several minutes.
Carter released this statement on Facebook:
“I have an update on Jerry. The docs are removing his ventilation & taking him out of sedation. He is responsive, which is great!!! It took a while to revive him last night so there’s the concern of brain damage. He had some tests done which will show how much if any damage there is due to the lack of oxygen to his brain. Unfortunately, the results won’t be in until in the morning. I appreciate all the calls, texts, tweets, & Facebook messages of support & I know Jerry will too. Thanks everybody!!”

* UPDATE * Lawler Suffered No Brain Damage:
One of the big questions following WWE commentator Jerry Lawler’s heart attack during “Monday Night Raw” this week was whether he suffered any brain damage as a result. Doctors performed multiple CT scans on him and the results came back Wednesday morning: No brain damage at all.
As Lawler’s ex-wife, Stacy Carter, wrote on her Facebook page: “Great news for Jerry!!! The results from the test are in. He has NO brain damage!!!! I’m not sure what the next step is or when he can go home, but this is such awesome news!!!”
Medical personnel who were ringside when Lawler had his heart attack performed CPR for 10 minutes while attempting to revive Lawler. At the hospital, he received seven shocks before doctors were able to get his heart back to a regular beat. Because of the length of time he was in cardiac arrest, brain damage was considered a real possibility.
Lawler, 62, is a pro wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer. He is perhaps best known for his feud with comedian Andy Kaufman in the 1980s and has been a part of the WWE broadcast team for 20 years.
Also receiving much praise today is Michael Cole, Lawler’s broadcast partner. Cole immediately signaled for help from the ringside doctor when Lawler collapsed. He provided updates throughout the rest of the live broadcast and kept everyone calm while medical personnel attended to Lawler next to him. Strangely enough, Cole and Lawler have engaged in a lengthy feud in their on-air roles, even wrestling each other on a couple of occasions.
Take one look at Cole’s updates and the obvious concern and emotion he shows over Lawler, and you can see the feud was indeed on camera only.
