EA Sport’s  Madden 13 hit the jackpot this week, EA Sports sold a record 900,000 copies of  the game on the first day.  The game also saw a record number of users on its Madden network.  Congrats to the folks over at EA Sports for their achievement.
Citing internal estimates, EA says sales were up 7% compared with last year, during which predecessor Madden NFL 12 sold 1.4 million copies in the first week.
“Madden NFL 13 is the most innovative entry the franchise has ever seen and we’re thrilled that fans have embraced it with such a huge first day,” said EA Sports Executive Vice President Andrew Wilson in a statement.
This year’s game features several key changes, including an overhaul of the technology used to simulate tackling and revamped career modes. For more details on the game, check out our Madden NFL 13 review.
