Will Smith is ready to step out of the spotlight and behind the camera for a pair of upcoming projects.
The A-list actor, who scored a hit with Men in Black 3 earlier this year, is developing a drama series called Epidemic with Hollywood scribe J. Michael Straczynski, whose credits include the hit cable series Babylon 5 and the big-budget films Thor, Underworld Awakening and Changeling.
On the big-screen front, Smith is also set to make his directorial debut with The Redemption of Cain, a Biblical epic about warring brothers Cain and Abel. Deadline.com reports that Smith will likely also star in the film, which is being produced by his own Overbrook Entertainment and Sony Pictures.
The Fresh Prince already has an illustrious producing resume, including producing credits on most of his films as well as the sitcom All of Us, which he co-created with his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith. Through his production company, Overbrook Entertainment, Smith has also produced smaller films like The Secret Life of Bees, Lakeview Terrace and The Karate Kid, which launched the career of his son, Jaden Smith.
