Will this be another money maker for Rovio? Check out the new game Amazing Alex after the jump.
The next project from the creators of mobile smash Angry Birds has made its debut on Apple’s App Store and Google Play.
Amazing Alex adopts the same affection for physics as Angry Birds, but with a completely different approach. The puzzle game is available for $0.99 on the iPhone and iPod Touch, while an HD version for iPad goes for $2.99.
Levels take place inside Alex’s room, with objectives ranging from taking out cardboard robots to putting away books or toys.
Players use objects to string together a chain reaction and complete the level. For example, one early level requires players to guide a soccer ball into a basket by carefully placing tables or other objects. They also collect stars along the way for an extra bonus.
The game contains 100 levels spread out across four different environments, and Rovio is promising future updates with new challenges. Players can also design their own levels and share them with others.
This is Rovio’s first project since launching the Angry Birds franchise in 2009. The studio has leaned mostly on expansions of the game, and with good reason. In May, the series topped 1 billion downloads.
