I’m sure everyone wishes they had Joseph Sylvester’s luck. He’s consecutively won 100,000 in less than 3 months on the same lottery game. Hit the jump to read the details.
The chances of winning the $100,000 dollar top prize in Virginia’s Cash 5 drawing are 1 in 278,256, according to the Virginia Lottery website. Now imagine that happening twice to the same person. Somehow, Arlington resident Joseph Sylvester overcame those odds to win his second lottery in three months on July 3.
His first win was on April 3, three months to the day before his next jackpot, reports the Washington Post.
“The second time is a little more routine,†Sylvester told officials. His first thought after winning again? “Gotta get my picture taken again,†he told the Washington Post.
According to UPI, Sylvester used Easy Pick, a machine that randomly selects the numbers, and the purchase was made at a local 7-Eleven. “It feels great to win. I guess the only advice I have is: Expect to win,†he told WUSA9.
When he won his first $100,000 in April, Sylvester paid bills and bought a new truck, according to ABC news. He plans to pay off more bills with his second set of winnings. Of course, he also plans to continue to purchase lottery tickets.
