TruTV has given a greenlight to “Upload With Shaquille O’Neal.”
The series features former NBA fixture O’Neal, who joins comedians Gary Owen and Godfrey and special guests to chat up online videos, pranking others and creating their own viral vids. Cabler has ordered 10 half-hour episodes and anticipates the skein will bow early next year.
Move comes as the net preps the launch of other unscripted skeins, “Killer Karaoke” and “Guinness World Records Gone Wild,” which are slated to premiere later this year.
“We’re really excited to be working with Shaq and the outstanding production team,” said Marc Juris, TruTV exec VP.
“Upload” will be produced by Shaq Entertainment and FishBowl Worldwide Media, with Susan Levison spearheading the creative efforts. Mike Gibbons of “Tosh.0” is also on board to exec produce.
