Google Voice Search V.S . Siri!

In one corner, we have Android 4.1 Jelly Bean’s Google-powered “Voice Actions” search feature. In the other, we have the iPhone 4S and its digital personal assistant, Siri. Phonebuff blogger David Rahimi wanted to see which of the services produced search results with more efficiency and speed.

At the start of the video, both programs were neck-and-neck, providing the current weather forecast in about the same amount of time. From there, however, the competition got tougher — with Android coming out on top in the end.

“When I asked “what was the score to the Angel’s game last night?” only Voice Actions responded appropriately giving me the score of the last game. Siri only offered to do a web search, however Siri will be able to answer this correctly in iOS 6.”

Last month, Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster held a similar test, only in his case, he pitted Siri against Google web searches for 800 identical questions. Munster typed the questions into Google and asked the same questions of Siri using his voice. All the while, he recorded how many of the questions Siri and Google answered correctly.

According to the results, Siri is still “very, very much in beta.”
