A swarm of bees chose a popular park in California to get wild in. Several people were injured and the park is now closed because it’s still deemed as a dangerous area. Hit the jump for details.
HUNTINGTON PARK, Calif. (KTLA) — ‘Killer bees’ swarmed a Huntington Park recreation area on Friday, sending three people to the hospital with bee stings, police told the Los Angeles Times.
Police officers said the swarm contained about 60,000 of the aggressive bees, formally known as Africanized honey bees. The insects left a tree hive and clouded the air around 3 p.m. in Robert Keller Park.
A local emergency room treated one person with more than a dozen stings, Huntington Police Sgt. Conrad Chacon said
The hive has since been removed, but the park remained closed on Saturday.Everythings roped off, but there are a couple of bees still flying around,Chacon said. Its still considered dangerous
