In a quest to upgrade their roster the Knicks have been focused on guards. Â Thanks to a recent win concerning “Bird rights” they have the ability to resign Jeremy Lin and still maintain their mid -level exception. Â With that they can possibly pickup Steve Nash or fill the shooting guard position. Â For that they have a list of candidates. Â Read more after the jump.
According to the NY Daily News:
Jason Terry, O.J. Mayo and Ray Allen top the Knicks’ free-agent wish list for shooting guards. Allen wants a big offer, of course, but he’ll also favor the team that shows him the most love when it comes knocking on his door on July 1. Looks like the Knicks, who don’t have a lot of money to offer Allen, will have to out wine-and-dine the Bulls and Heat.
Ray Allen has been brought up before and whispers about O.J. Mayo but not Jason Terry. Â Terry does provide quick off the bench scoring and although Allen was injured he showed some resilience during the matchup against the Miami Heat. Â O.J Mayo would be the better fit to me, the Knicks have a habit of picking up players on their last legs. Â By the way I’m guessing it’s bye bye Landry Fields soon.
