As reported before the Chicago Bulls are looking to make some changes to the roster as well as attain a lottery pick in the NBA draft. Â After Derrick Rose suffered a torn ACL and the Bulls were booted out of the first round, it’s no surprise that they want to make some serious adjustments. Â Read more after the jump.
According to the NY Daily News:
The Bulls want to give Omer Asik and Taj Gibson new deals, so they’re exploring ways to trade Luol Deng and/or Joakim Noah to teams that can send them a trade exception and a No. 1 pick.
Luol Deng and Joakim Noah have both proven to be key pieces to the Bulls team but they also carry big contracts. Â Deng has a contract that will pay him over $27 million over the next two seasons and Noah is set to make nearly $50 million over the next four seasons. Â Aside from that we all know Noah’s injury prone and Deng is slated to miss some games after he has surgery on his wrist. Â Still I’m not sure if it’s the move I would make. Â Deng an NBA All-Star, is one of the top defenders in the league and has been one of the key scorers helping Rose. Â Noah also one of the better defenders as well as a passing big man has also been important to the Bulls roster. Â Deng has already garnered interest from the Golden State Warriors. Â One thing that’s pretty sure to happen as it SHOULD, is Carlos Boozer being amnestied. Â His contract is pretty big for the Bulls to swallow but I’m sure someone will pick him up off waivers and slightly lighten the burden.
