Rasheedah Watley accused Marshall of two counts each of battery and false imprisonment stemming from incidents in June 2007 and March 2008. Watley sought punitive damages in the case, which was dismissed May 25 in Georgia State Court.

This wasn’t the ex-couple’s first legal run-in. A jury in 2009 found Marshall not guilty of misdemeanor battery charges stemming from a violent argument with Watley at the Atlanta condominium they shared.

Marshall and Watley began their relationship in junior high, but it grew volatile after he entered the NFL. In 2010, Marshall married Michi Nogami-Campbell, a union that has produced drama of its own.

The Bears acquired Marshall from the Miami Dolphins this offseason with the expectation his troubles are in the past. The team is counting on him to bring fire to Chicago’s passing game, while keeping quiet away from the field.
