Samsung and Apple are not the best of friends in the mobile game. Funny thing is the iPhone is made of Samsung parts. Well with all the rumors of the iPhone 5 dropping later this year Samsung has some plans of their own to compete with the device. Check out the full rumor after the jump.

The follow-up to the Samsung Galaxy Note, could be arriving in October directly competing with the new iPhone 5, running Android JellyBean with a thinner body and larger screen.

According to MK Business News (via the Verge) the launch date of October has been timed to compete directly with the release of the new iPhone/iPhone 5. Samsung allegedly brought forward the release date to tackle Apple head on.

The Apple iPhone 4S launched in October 2011, so we’re assuming Apple will stick to its typical 12-month product cycle, although Apple has yet to confirm much about the new iPhone, beyond stating the release of iOS 6 (which the new iPhone will launch on) will occur this ‘autumn.’

The new Galaxy Note 2 will apparently be ‘derivative model of the Samsung Galaxy S3’ with a large unbreakable plane display (UBP), enabling a slimmer form factor with more space for components such as the processor. This corroborates a recent spec leak revealing that the Samsung Note 2 will have a 5.5-inch 1680×1050 screen, along with a dual-core processor, 1.5GB RAM and an 8-megapixel camera.

If the launch is pegged for October then it makes sense for the device to run Android 5.0 Jellybean, which we’re expecting it to be revealed at Google I/O in San Francisco next week and debut on a device later this year.

We’ll bring you more news of this and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 when we get it, but let us know via Facebook and Twitter if you’re interested in second-generation Note.
