New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning made a bold statement last year when he referred to himself as one of the top five quarterbacks in the NFL, but he lived up to his words after leading the team to their second Super Bowl victory in five seasons. One year later, Manning finds himself in another interesting controversy as he ranks No. 31 on the list of NFL Top 100 Players of 2012–which is an absolute joke.

From Dan Parzych of Rant Sports:

How a player like Manning ranks this low on the list is absolutely absurd considering what he accomplished during the 2011 season. Here’s a quarterback that has quickly emerged into one of the best players in the NFL and deserves to be in the top 20 at least–if not the top 10.

The fact that this list is conducted by other players around the league shows there may be a bit of jealousy towards the Giants quarterback and his two Super Bowl rings. Instead of willing to give Manning the respect that he deserves, it’s obvious they decided to give him a lower ranking on purpose out of spite.

Knowing Manning, he’ll just use this list as motivation to perform at an even higher level for the 2012 season–which could mean trouble for the rest of the NFL.

So now we ask you…What do you think of Eli being ranked at 31?!
