They are rumors coming up that Rockstar games may release GTA V this coming year, but only if the game gets critical acclaim from the public.  The GTA series has its own fan base so it would’nt be a problem for the game to move units if it wasn’t certified hit by gaming critics.
You can count on the Grand Theft Auto 5 release date falling towards the end of this year, so says an analyst in a popular gaming magazine this month, although you might be getting sick of all the statements from so-called professionals making a judgment like this, unless they have some inside information that is.
It’s hard to gauge what’s right from wrong when you have claims of a GTA 5 release date this year, and in 2013, although it’s our job to report the predictions and in this case it’s the Xbox 360 Magazine after an interview with Jesse Divnich from EEDAR. Before you run off and buy a copy of the magazine thinking “exclusive“, we’d like to point out this is pure opinion from an analyst studying what Rockstar would likely do.
Divnich makes it clear that GTA 5 would only release when Rockstar feel it could receive “critical acclaim“, which is pretty obvious considering they will want to plan a launch that helps the next GTA achieve the very highest scores.
We’ve spoken to a number of gamers and put a lot of hours into GTA IV ourselves, and it’s common opinion from the gamer that GTA 5 could release at almost any time and still be a major success considering its massive fan base, and uniqueness in the gaming market. Michael Pachter is a well-known analyst with most gamers and he has also added his take on a launch date, which comes in at a very specific OCT 23 this year.
If you’re picking up the latest copy of Xbox 360 Magazine then you’ll also get some news/opinion/reveals on Black Ops 2, Assassin’s Creed 3, E3 and of course Grand Theft Auto V as well.
