Saints interim head coach Joe Vitt had the quote of the day Thursday when he talked about his full confidence that quarterback Drew Brees would be at training camp on time.  Brees fired back, read more after the jump.
“I feel confident he’s going to be here. He’ll be here,” Vitt said.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport asked why:
“What else is he going to do? He can’t sing or dance.”
Well, Brees heard Vitt’s comments and couldn’t help responding. Via Twitter of course.
While this is all tongue-in-cheek, it should calm down anxious Saints fans. There is no rancor between Brees and the coaching staff. There seems to be a level of confidence from both sides things will work out. The biggest news of the day is that Brees is still acting like a leader. He’spreparing for camp.
“I had a great conversation with Drew the other day,” Vitt said. “We were talking about training camp. I had some questions and I knew that he wanted to do some certain things at training camp. I feel confident. He’ll be here.”
We don’t think this is just coachspeak. Vitt really believes Brees will be at camp. We agree.
