The Maumelle Police Department is looking into a woman’s accusations that she was raped by professional boxer Jermain Taylor.Â
Police were called to America’s Best Value Hotel on May 18 by a hotel manager about a disturbance. When they arrived a 27-year-old female told police she had injured her ankle after falling down the stairs following  a verbal altercation with Taylor. She told police she had met him at the hotel to have sex with him in exchange for money. She alleged she became frightened during an argument.
According to the press release, the woman was taken to Baptist Medical to treat her ankle injury. Once at the hospital she claimed that Taylor had raped her.
During the ensuing investigation the woman was arrested for Possession of a controlled substance.
The investigation is ongoing. Jermain Taylor has not been arrested or charged for the alleged situation.

The Maumelle Police Department released the following statement in reference to the recent investigation:
“Regarding the investigation of the events of May 18th involving Jermain Taylor, the Maumelle Police Department does not anticipate any additional criminal charges. This preliminary decision is based on the interviews of all involved parties and physical evidence collected during the investigation.”
