Recently Windows has uncovered a patient from 2010, with a service that would allow transfer of apps and data between 2 different devices and running on separate operating Systems. Meaning this patient could work on iOS, Android and Windows platform.

The patient that Microsoft has filed for has functions that would analyze apps stored on a device and then the program itself would look into the Microsoft  Windows Phone Marketplace and compare to the apps available

Once a match is found the app store will suggest the user to download a suggested app from Microsoft’s app store to download.  If by chance there are no matching  apps the program will suggest similar apps to download.

This could be useful to Microsoft in the sense that iOS and Android control the OS and App market amongst the Smartphone market. The patient could give smartphone users a third option on gaining apps for their smartphones.
